Louisiana Elementary Math & Coding Olympiad
Elementary school students will face off in a math and coding competition on Saturday, March 20, 2021... Virtually! This event consists of a complex mathematical test that 5th graders take hosted and organized by Kenilworth Science and Technology School. Kenilworth aims to provide challenging, engaging mathematical experience which is both competitive and educational. All interested 5th graders are welcomed to participate in the competition. Students who are interested, can opt-in to the new coding competition that will be a separate test. Coding questions will be pulled from a free online coding course. Learn more about the coding portion of the exam in the "Coding" tab. Awards are given to both the 5th grader who wins and their math teacher! The best part is that it is free to register!
Participants: Must be a 5th grade student in Louisiana*
Questions: Multiple choice questions from various math topics aligned to Common Core for all students
Date: Saturday, March 20, 2021
Location: Virtual
Virtual Requirements: Students MUST have a working computer with camera in order to compete. The test will be monitored via staff in a secure Zoom meeting.
* Participants enrollment in 5th grade will be verified via contact with their 5th grade math teachers. Please be sure to enter a valid school email for your students' teacher. A confirmation email will be sent after your students have been verified.

All participants receive a LEMCO participation certificate.
The Math test portion has 2 award divisions
Gold Math Division
The Gold Division portion of the test will consist of grade level questions, based on Louisiana Student Standards. This section will have a separate score and be used for gold level ranking . Students who win in the Platinum Math section will not receive a second prize or medal but will be recognized with a certificate. All students who score 93% or above on the gold level questions will receive a certificate after the contest. The top 25 students in this division, will receive a medal of recognition.
Platinum Math Division
The Platinum Math division will be based on the entire test. There will be one section that will have advanced math questions that are designed to challenge students. These questions will be similar to past years questions. The other section will be based on grade level Louisiana Student Standards. The prizes for the Platinum Math Division are as follows:
